Thong, G-string or tanga?

The names overlap. A thong has a normal front and a narrow strip behind. A G-string is little more than a string at the sides and back. In British English a tanga has narrow sides but more fabric behind than a thong; in the US the word is rare, so ask which shape she means. The photos usually settle it, and the label often names the brand's own cut.
